Position: Linux/System Developer

Location: Houston, TX

 

Description:

• 5+ years' experience in systems support/administration in a large environment
• Strong Linux OS experience (3+ years in depth real world experience)
• Strong shell scripting experience. Experience of manipulating desired tasks and outcomes via custom (bash, csh, ksh, etc) scripts.
• Proven track record of Linux server/desktop builds, support and deployment.
• Creation of custom Linux builds.
• RPM building, spec file creation
• Knowledge of the Linux Boot/Build process (E.g. understanding of Anaconda)
• Experience in developing automated kickstart/builds of Linux systems.
• Experience in supporting, administering, and deploying Windows servers/desktops
• MySQL database skills (usage and commands)
• Experience in PHP, C++, Ruby, or other programming language development.
• Source code management experience.
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)

 

Desired Skills:

• Strong Linux OS experience (Linux and Windows) 5 years in depth real world experience.
• Linux compute clusters, with experience in job schedulers such as: SGE, LSF, PBS, etc.
• Proven track record of large compute cluster builds, support and deployment
• Skills in deploying, supporting, and configuring high performance mass storage devices (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, etc.)
• 3+ years of experience in programming language development
• Expertise in Web Development technologies
• Oil & Gas experience at major or super major company
