Strong Java Developer with Financial background

6+months contract

Raleigh, North Carolina

 

The candidate should have server-side experience. This is not a role for GUI developers.

 

candidate should have experience with the entire SDLC cycle. Demonstrated use of Design Patterns is a plus.

 

Candidates must have the ability to interact with all functional roles on the team, contribute solutions and ideas to the problem space and have very good written and oral communication skills.

 

The candidate should also be a self-starter, highly motivated and a solid team player but capable of working independently.

 

Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.

• 5+ years core Java

• 6+ years experience working in Information Technology or a related technical field.

• Strong background in object-oriented design and development

• Experience working on multi-threaded systems.

• Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) from inception to deployment and user training

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be a self-starter and be able work well in fast paced, dynamic environment.

• Highly analytical, proactive and detail oriented

• Must be able to work effectively with clients and team members in other locations.

 

Desired Skills:

• Experience developing and supporting order execution or real-time market data systems is a plus.

• Experience working in the Investment Banking industry is a plus.

• FIX protocol experience a plus

• Apache Camel experience a huge plus

• Messaging experience is a plus

• Linux experience is a plus

• Experience working with source code control systems such as Subversion, CVS or Clearcase.

• 2+ years core Spring
