Title: Disaster Recovery Analyst

Location: Live/work in Phoenix, AZ

 

The manager is looking for a candidate that has the ability to conduct system analysis, risk analysis, and disaster recovery planning activities. The selected candidate will also be attending meetings. Candidates need to have extensive knowledge of current business continuity and disaster recovery practices. Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a corporate business continuity or IT disaster recovery.

 

Summary

This position will develop the disaster recovery plan for a key enterprise application. This will involve some business impact analysis, and thorough technical system analysis to determine recovery strategy and procedures, then writing of a cohesive and thorough plan document, and possibly testing of the DR plan that is developed.

 

Skills

·         Ability to conduct system analysis, risk analysis, disaster recovery planning

·         Ability to analyze complex processes and systems and recommend alternative strategies for system configuration or procedure in order to meet requirements defined by the department.

·         Ability to facilitate meetings to accomplish specific work and objectives

·         Ability to develop extensive plan documents that are technical but accessible, with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

·         Ability to document work process and system interactions in flowcharts and diagrams

·         Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio

 

Knowledge

·         Extensive knowledge of current business continuity and disaster recovery best practices

·         Knowledge of systems architecture

·         Knowledge of health industry rules and regulations governing business continuity and/or disaster recovery

·         Knowledge of methods for testing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans

 

Experience

·         Must have a minimum of three years' experience working in corporate business continuity or IT disaster recovery.

·         Experience as a business analyst and technical writer.

·         Experience with the exercising of the DR plans, including table-top facilitation, execution of simulation and mock exercises is a plus

·         Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer engineering, computer science, emergency management or related field is required. Four years of related work experience can be used in lieu of a degree.

·         A relevant professional certification is preferred: for example, CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional), MBCP (Master Business Continuity Professional), Certified Functional Continuity Professional (CFCP), Certified Emergency Manager® (CEM®), or FBCI (Fellow, Business Continuity Institute).
