Just spoke to FedEx manager he would like someone that has as much experience with the skills listed as possible. It is not required that someone has experience converting Ant to maven, but it is required that someone has worked with large 100+ table databases…..their database is 400+. There is not one specific project the person will be working on….they will bounce around to multiple projects that will usually last a couple months. Don’t worry about Ice Faces
Summary: Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. Education/Experience
• Bachelor's degree/equivalent in computer science, MIS or related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in systems development and skills/platform/environment requested by FedEx management Skills and Competencies
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time
• Knowledge of design techniques and principals involved in production of drawings and models
• Knowledge of niche computer software, such as Oracle, CSharp.net, Lawson, etc.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
• Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
• Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan computer specifications and layouts, and peripheral equipment modifications • Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration

• Java (5-6 yrs.), SQL(3 yrs.), PL/SQL(3 yrs.), Weblogic (3 yrs.), Spring Framework (2 yrs.), JMS (2 yrs.), ICE Faces (2 yrs.), and Maven (3 yrs.)
• Contractor will work on application development tasks using Java and PL/SQL.
• Contractor will work on web application development using ICEFaces.
• Contractor will work on converting system build scripts from Ant to Maven 3.
• Contractor must have prior experience in converting complex Ant build scripts to Maven 3 for large systems.
• Contractor must be experienced in developing larger complex Java systems that contained 100+ database tables.
• Contractor should be able to start developing immediately upon arrival with little or no help.
• Excellent communication skills are required.
• The contractor must demonstrate strong initiative and the ability to work independently.
