the role of Database Administrator (DBA) the contingent worker are expected to provide services that include but not be limited to the following:

Manage and/or coordinate database activities, including:
~ Database design
~ Software installation and upgrade
~ Database backup and recovery
~ Overall performance monitoring and management
~ Database security
~ Monitoring of management of database jobs

Consult with development team to assist with:-
~ Application design
~ Database query and procedure design
~ Procedure debugging
~ Participation in application code review
~ Documentation of fixes and issue resolution
~ Documentation of database maintenance and management procedures and schedules
~ Status reporting as defined by the Application Manager

Skills Required:-
Database Installation/Configuration/Maintenance in SQL 2005/2008 and 2012- Services must be available to install and configure, upgrade, maintain and tune various databases to include:

· Development of database architecture diagrams.
· Extensive knowledge in setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of Multi Node Always ON /Availability Groups in SQL 2012.
· Database upgrades/migration plans.
· Database Performance trouble shooting including T-SQL queries.
· Data migrations between systems.
· Database performance tuning and index maintenance/optimization.
· Work with Systems Engineering to design enterprise database storage solutions.
· Patch updates.
· Backup/maintenance plans.
· Capacity and performance planning.
· User access maintenance.
· Backup/recovery testing procedure.
· Coding and review of complex code in T-SQL.

Experience Required:-
· Working in very large OLTP DB systems with high transaction rates.
· Install, configure and support SQL databases for Business Systems environments.
· Monitor database space and capacity, estimate sizing and growth requirements.
· Database performance tuning, review & tune complex SQL statements.
· Maintain Backup and Recovery procedures.
· Assume ownership of database related problems; pursue short and long-term problem resolution and root cause analysis.
· Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to solve database level issues including availability and stability of the database environments.
· Work with vendors or application support teams to gather information, determine and implement resolutions.
· Proactively research and identify database level patches and upgrades.
· Provide 24/7 on call and or onsite support.
· Maintain standard operating procedures specifically focused on stable database environments.
