Their primary support role will be helping to support Oracle database applications therefore they must have strong hands on working knowledge of:
• Oracle 10g and 11g and Sybase 15
• Oracle Dataguard, Oracle OEM, Oracle CRS
• Replication tools such as Oracle Streams
• Knowledge and experience using Sybase PowerDesigner to provide insight and oversight of database models
• Ability to problem solve database issues while on-call 24x7
• strong Knowledge of performance data collection, performance monitoring and performance improvement.
• Knowledge of backups and recovery, Security Administration, Database and Server Performance Monitoring and Tuning, and Capacity Planning.
• Effective and clear communication, independent worker, and leadership skills are key.
