Job description
The PayPal Working Capital Quality Engineering team is looking for exceptional software engineers interested in Quality. We are looking for engineers to help test new features, enabling scalability and reliability for our rapidly growing user base. Help us build and maintain an excellent product for our customers. The Senior Software Engineer in Quality role provides an exciting opportunity to utilize your software development skills towards implementing test solutions. You will need to be innovative in your approach and exercise creativity in your delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Development and support the testing of product features throughout the different phases of the development cycle.
• Work with engineers, team leads, managers to help deliver innovative testing solutions that meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules.
• Help develop and execute testing strategies, test automation and test engineering technologies.
• Set up and manage test environments, including continuous integration jobs for your applications under test.
• Proactively recommend coding solutions and solve problems.
• Work as part of an agile scrum team delivering high quality software and solutions.
• Test and automate in parallel with development activities.
• Review both application and test code for peers in both development and quality engineering
• Develop test APIs, utilities, and contribute to existing frameworks
Requirements:
• 4 -6 years of industry experience with strong proven ability to program in Java or similar Object-Oriented language (C++ or C#)
• Knowledge or experience with interface testing, API, SOA, XML, and web services
• Passion for software quality and solving problems in traditional web and mobile web spaces.
• Knowledge of or experience working in Agile/Scrum environment
• Working experience with Continuous Integration, TestNG and other automation frameworks
• Strong Unix and SQL knowledge
• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related fields. Masters or Ph.D degree a plus
