IT Business Analyst (Financial)
POSITION DESCRIPTION
• Understand technical processes of Front & Middle Office applications and how they integrate with each other.
• Lead meetings with business and IT partners to gather high-level business requirements.
• Determine the technical solutions necessary to support the business functionality.
• Perform business analysis to help define technical solution options and recommendations, including pros/cons and rationale for recommendations.
• Write specifications and ensure specifications can be traced back to high-level requirements, that can be understood by a business audience as well as a technical audience of developers, QA and support.
• Create use cases, including diagrams for end-to-end current/future business workflows.
• Facilitate working groups tasked with solving specific data challenges within the organization.
• Functional testing of deliveries in a test environment.
• Identify and assist in resolution of risks and issues that will adversely affect planned project milestones.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 5+ years in IT Finance industry.
• Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile development cycle.
• Experience acting as intermediary between the business and IT to ensure optimal delivery against requirements.
• Proven experience developing and writing business/functional requirements.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation.
• Experience working with Banking/Financial area and/or general knowledge of Investment Banking Operations processes (a plus).
• Knowledgeable of securities types and their settlement processes (a plus).
