Job Description: Testing of a telecom applications in a standalone mode using real-time communications between various clients and server using protocols like X.25, SS7, TCP/UDP, simulation of various call routing scenarios and validating the routing response based on predefined routing options. Testing involves data setup via Oracle database SQL command scripts, Linux based tools to simulate calls and validate responses, troubleshooting and issue resolution by working with development team.  Tester will record defects  and work with software providers (internal and external) to provide detailed circumstantial data in support of resolving defects.  Tester will  install and configure software  and patches.   Tester will help define and implement  performance testing driven from LINUX systems, and should be able to present results/trends of various load levels to Management. Required Skills: 7+ years direct experience in the following skills and technology disciplines: - strong experience with UNIX/Linux OS environments and shell scripting  - experience in X.25, SS7 or VoIP call processing   - basic SQL skills, ideally on Oracle database - experience with Linux OS and shell scripting  - reading requirements + design specifications, writing test plans   - performance test of transcation servers or communication servers - failover / fault injections tests - software installation / configuration  - excellent English verbal and written communications Desired Skills:  est / defect tracking using HP Quality Center - exposure to call processing systems at messaging/protocol level, knowledge of TDM (like SS7/ITU) / VoIP (SIP) protocols.  Overtime Required based on project needs
