Position = BI Solutions Design Consultant
Location = El Segundo, CA
Duration = Long Term

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document/deliver Enterprise Business Intelligence solutions
Assist in interviewing business users to obtain data requirements
Perform analysis on data sources to verify expected data content/relationships/quality
Design/communicate conceptual/logical data models
Develop/communicate high-level technical designs ( including testing strategies/quality controls using integrated data/tool solutions) in order to resolve complex technical/business issues
Evolve Business Intelligence solutions/data models to meet new/changing business requirements
Develop processes for capturing/maintaining metadata from all data warehousing components (from databases to data access tool catalogs)
Proactively monitor data quality; provide direction/guidance in improving the data load process
Support/advise business users on data conflicts/inappropriate data usage
Participate in the definition of best practices/standards/procedures for the Enterprise Data Warehouse including the Extract/Load/Transform (ETL) processes
Adhere to data management/security/development policies/procedures/standards
Proactive/motivated/ability to be  flexible;
Possess analytical skills; ability to support/manage multiple priorities
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Along with their outstanding drive for accomplishment, the successful candidate will bring with them:
BA/BS in Computer Science/Management Information Systems or equivalent Business degree /work experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in Business Intelligence area specifically with data analysis, solution design and metadata management
Strong analytical, conceptual and technical skills with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
Capable of developing deep understanding of source data, its strengths, weaknesses, semantics, and formats
Extensive experience with data modeling and SQL
Minimum 5 years of experience with Oracle and Teradata databases and tools
Experience with ETL tools such as Informatica is a plus
Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools, including OLAP, Metadata Management, and Reporting tools
Extensive client facing skills with the ability to lead customer/user meetings as required
