Job Description:
Position Title: QA Test Lead
As a QA Lead, the position's key responsibilities include support of an, SAP based, enterprise reporting solution validation cycles. This role will primarily focus on working with the BI SAP Implementation Team, during requirements review, test case development and review, and during test execution.
Accountable for testing quality and effectiveness, the QA Test Lead has the primary responsibility to plan the test approach and scope, write test cases, execute test cases, record and manage defect resolution with the development team, and communicate issues, risks and status to executive level on a timely basis.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in coordinating multiple QA streams across a broad spectrum of Financial and Operational reports. Candidate must have a financial background to lead QA for 250+ Financial Reports.
Key Tasks and Activities:
- Plans, coordinates and monitors QA test design and execution in collaboration with the Project Manager and development team.
- Engages with appropriate development, business analyst and testing resources throughout the project lifecycle; including review of business requirements, coordination of test execution and assignment of defects to the development team for remediation
- Creates a QA test strategy as input to the overall (when appropriate) Test Strategy. Develops the QA Test Plan and facilitates review of QA Test Plan with Implementation Team.
- Prepares for and conducts daily Testing Status Meetings during QA test execution.
- Prepares test metrics and defect reporting. Analyzes and communicates test metrics and trends.
- Ability to efficiently coordinate defect resolution efforts between onshore and offshore development team.
- Ensures requirements traceability by overseeing the mapping QA Test Cases to appropriate business requirements in the Requirements Traceability Matrix
- Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Using technical knowledge and Financial/SAP experience, independently performs advanced root cause analysis on complex code issues/bugs, and consults with the development team on possible resolution. May make recommendations based on analysis.
- Persuasive communication within the project and functional teams.
Team Leadership
Coach and mentor other QA/Development team members as appropriate.
Promote effective teamwork and resolve interpersonal issues.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skill level in leading high-performance teams
- Previous experience coordinating Financial reporting a must
- Previous SAP BW knowledge a plus
- 5-10 yrs relevant experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Excellent management, organization and coordination skills
- Proficient at Microsoft Office and issue tracking software such as TFS and HPQC
- BI Experience and SSRS/Cognos knowledge a plus
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Experience in working with third-party vendor; both onshore and offshore
