Position: Front-end developer
Location: San Francisco – CA.
Duration: 12 Months
Job Description:
• Looking for candidates with expertise in front end technology and trends , web-accessibility, responsive web design with strong fundamentals in MVC and object-oriented programing.
• Candidates should be experts in JavaScript, CSS3, and HTML5 including performance handling, optimization, security, and AJAX.
• Candidates should have the ability to understand multitier web based transaction systems , code/content separation and have working experience with JSP and JSTL.
• Candidates should have JavaScript framework experience – the JavaScript framework leveraged in this position is based on YUI3 so reusable design patterns will be integrating using this library (knowledge of YUI is not a requirement).
• Candidates should be able to mentor other front end engineers in technical aspects and best practices.
• Candidates should also have an eye for detail as development duties will include requirements analysis, wireframe and mockup review, and communication with user experience and product teams.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist Application Manager with hiring Front-end Developers
• Ensure Application teams understand RACI matrix – Reporting Structure, Milestones and Deliverables for CEO Redesign projects
• FED Project plan for Application team ramp up, this includes checkpoints for Onboarding FEDs, coordinating/scheduling: Training, Proof of Concept design and delivery and code audits
• FED microsite walkthrough and setup
• Participate and sign-off on Design Reviews
• Assist Application Teams with Use Case Review and User Stories
• Setup base code structure
• Review and Approve Tech Specs and Design Documents
• Assist in Creation Proof-of-Concept (if required) Illustrates how to integrate WF-RIA API as well as back-end and front-end.
• Reoccurring end-to-end code reviews
• Educate Application teams on WFRIA support model, device testing and UAT staffing expectations
• Assist in assessing performance/production issues as requested
Required Skills
Working knowledge and understanding of
• Advanced Javascript (closures, event handling , performance tuning, Object oriented design , data structures)
• Responsive design, grids
• Front end design patterns ( most importantly MVC, modularization)
• Internationalization
• AJAX
• JSON
• Client side tempting engine (preferably soy templates)
• HTML 5 & CSS 3
• JS framework, preferably YUI - more importantly, should understand how the framework functions and how to extend or modify it
• Cross-browser testing and JS debugging
• Web accessibility and the Semantic Web
• JSP
• JSTL
• Experience with testing tools like Firebug, Chrome Developer Tools
