Technical:  5+ Years of experience in database design, and data modeling using SQL databases.

Job Description:

 

They will be working with both the business and with the application development teams to understand and translate business needs into data models (conceptual/logical/physical) that support long-term solutions.  They will work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build/outline data flows and develop conceptual data models.  They will create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality, integrity and when appropriate - reduced redundancy.  They will be responsible for:

 

• Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.
• Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata along with supporting artifacts.
• Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases.
• Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
• Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.
• Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
• Guide System Analysts, Engineers, Programmers and others on project in area of back end limitations, capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Review change requests to existing software/product to improve efficiency and performance.

 

Job Requirements:

 

• 5+ Years of experience in database design, and data modeling using SQL databases.
• Skilled in taking a design to physical model MS SQL Server.
• Experience with source to target mapping for ETL and data migration
• Experience managing both business and technical meta-data
• Solid experience with best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.

 

Bonus Skills:

• Past experience in DBA or DB Development areas
• Experience in working on projects with agile live cycle
