Position: Sr SQL Developer/ /Database Admin

 

Location: Woodland Hills, CA

 

Duration: 3 month contract – possible extension

 

Hiring Manager Comments: Client is looking for strong SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and SQL DB Admin experience too.

Key Responsibilities: 

  1. Understanding of relational database concepts
  2. Write SQL statements within stored procedures; perform database queries and analysis in the context of OLTP and OLAP environments.
  3. Provide database development expertise (stored procedures, views, etc.) for application development. 
  4. Help in the design, implementation, verification, debugging, optimizing and maintenance of  SQL Server database objects (database design, table design, index creation, stored procedures, views, functions,  scripts, etc.) and processes for the application, reporting and interface modules.
  5. Perform report development utilizing SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services.
  6. Design, code and test SQL Server Reporting Services components (User Interface, Middleware, Stored Procedures, Tables, etc.).
  7. Collaborate with the team lead/architect to improve and enhance the reporting modules.
  8. Adhere to published coding standards and documentation requirements.
  9. Create report queries utilizing standard SQL.
  10. Write technical design documents for schema and stored procedure specifications
  11. Specify, plan, and code functioning systems to solve existing user / application problems.
  12. Work independently and report project status to management as required.
  13. Creative problem solving.
  14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  15. Attention to detail
  16. Ability to work well under pressure

 

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

·         Degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science or information technology. 

·         5+  years experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 & 2012

·         4+  years experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 & 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS)

·         3+  years experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 & 2012 Integration Services (SSIS)

·         Database Stored Procedure development & maintenance

·         Ability to understand business and financial concepts

·         Experience in both OLTP & OLAP environments to include support of Application Development Cycles

·         Solid understanding of SQL Server locking, indexing and error handling. 

·         Strong understanding of how to maximize SQL Server application scalability, performance, recoverability and maintainability.

·         Experience using Visual Studio - Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS) for SSRS Report Development.

·         Microsoft Certification desired. 

 

Desired:

  • Experience with MS SQL Server 2014
  • Experience with Source Control applied to DB Development
  • Experience with MS TFS
  • Experience with Red Gate tools
  • Experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012 & 2014 Analysis Services & Cubes (SSAS)
  • Past experience working in FDA regulated environment
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0
  • Microsoft Certification
