Position Title: EDI/SQL Developer. – MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A SQL TEST !!!
Length of Project: 6 Months Contract to Hire
Position Location: Austin, TX

| Description | GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Responsible for developing, testing and implementing data extract and integration interfaces as well as providing guidance to lower level developers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and maintain data integration and EDI applications in various formats that include HIPAA standard formats (e.g. 837, 834), other regulatory formats, and custom file layouts using a combination of SQL, data mapping tools, and web services.
• Create and maintain interfaces between application systems and external trading partners, including CMS, HHSC, vendors, and client organizations.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of systems and business to the development of technical design for large complex processes and projects.
• Evaluate trading partner requests for new and modifications to existing applications/programs/processes/maps.
• Maintain detailed documentation and process flows of all data integration and EDI processes.
• Conduct research and make recommendations on ETL products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Participate in project meetings, providing input to project plans and providing status updates.
• At the request of end users or management, research questions involving data integration and EDI applications, how the data is organized, and how fields are populated.
• Provide status updates on all assigned tasks using the department's service request tracking tool and TFS project tracking.
• Support end-user functional departments as requested by management.
• Follow existing source code management and version control processes for all coding efforts. |
| EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•BA/BS Computer Science, IT or equivalent and/or equivalent experience.
•5+ years ITS or software development experience.
4+ years experience with data integration/mapping software products (e.g. Pervasive/Actian DataConnect). Knowledge of Healthcare Industry EDI standards and requirements a plus.
•5+ years database experience with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle.
•6+ years Microsoft desktop applications experience (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). |
