Job Summary: 


This is a dynamic position working with business clients, application project and support teams, as well as a variety of other teams within the Infrastructure organization including database, storage, networking, security, hardware and others.   


Since purchased applications make use of a wide variety of technologies the person hired for this position will make use of their experience with Windows and Linux administration and scripting, as well as middlware components such as Tomcat, Apache, JBOSS, Websphere, Weblogic, and IIS.  

 

Must have experience designing Wiki pages!


The person will performs environment design analysis, installation, testing, debugging, documentation, and maintenance; including patches and upgrades, of purchased commercial application software. 


Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

 

* Consult with application project teams on the evaluation of potential vendor package solutions.  

* Collaborate with other application project and infrastructure teams to plan the implementation and support of a given packaged application. 

* Implement the software environment, including the hosting middleware, such as Apache and Tomcat. 

* Implement environment monitoring tools. 

* Maintain the software environment including installations, configurations, updates and patches. 

* Manage the day to day operations of the software environment. 

* Monitor the applications for performance, capacity and availability. 

* Integrate the application with security authentication software (LDAP) and single sign-on, load balancers, and database. 

* Troubleshoot performance and availability issues in the software environment 

* Work with the vendor and other global team members to support the software and troubleshoot issues. 

* Has a direct impact on the team/work group, providing direction, advice, or focus for new or junior members as needed.   

* Identifies problems and opportunities for improvement with components or processes used to deliver IT solutions to clients.  

* Develops and leads improvements and/or solutions to work processes and tools. 

* Handles non-routine and difficult inquiries. Adapts differing techniques and methods to develop solutions for a variety of complex issues.  

* Provides technical support of operational software solutions in order to meet the changing information technology needs of clients, other interfaced components, and developers.  

* Manages and documents changes to components/processes in the hardware/software) within the responsibilities of their specific assignments.  

* Cultivates a network of resources for completion of assignments.  

* Develops personal knowledge of client organization functions, IT interfaces, and IT needs. 

 


Basic Qualifications: 

* 3+ years of IT professional experience 

* Must be able meet Export Control restrictions
