Title: C++ Developer (Must have airline industry experience and PERL scripting)

Location: Atlanta, GA
Duration: 1 Year


Need only locals

Face to face interview


•             Adequate knowledge of the airline/IATA industry with respect to travel solutions (Res, DCS, Ticketing, GDS, AIRIMP, SSIM, etc. and how the various components work together

•             Good working knowledge of PERL scripting language and usage of PERL modules

•             Good working knowledge of different flavors of regular expressions (Perl, POSIX, ECMA-262, boost)

•             Good working knowledge of C/C++ languages

•             Knowledge of flat file formats and being able to parse the following types of data with ASCII, EBCDIC, UNICODE and 36bit USAS format, CSV type data, fixed (non-delimited) data, binary data and other proprietary formats such as Excel, XML

•             Good working knowledge of Windows scripting environment (JScript, VBScript, wsf)

•             Good working knowledge of *NIX shells and shell programming and *NIX system administration

•             Good knowledge of developing queries (SQL), views and stored procedures/functions

•             Ability to check data integrity from source raw data files and from relational databases

•             Ability to design a suitable relational database model based on data specifications and desired solution (PostgreSQL preferred)

•             Ability to develop software solutions based on just a problem statement and without the availability of existing specifications

•             Knowledge of software version control systems (subversion, GIT, etc.)

•             Good working knowledge of windows environment and system administration

•             Knowledge of mega-switch address routing and USAS address routing an advantage

•             Familiarity with software development methodologies

•             Knowledge of Liaison API (LAPI) an advantage

•             Knowledge of data compression tools and data encryption tools

•             Knowledge of TCP/IP networking

               

Migrate Passenger name records from former hosting systems to SITA Reservations system;

•             Develop viable software solutions based on a problem statement and without the availability of existing requirements;

•             Act as the customer Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for data migration activities;

•             Design suitable relational database model (PostgreSQL preferred) to achieve desired solution;

•             Collaborate with customers to understand, document and resolve problems of high complexity within the designated application. Estimate and/or review estimates for specific solution/s to ensure time, cost and design meets the needs of the product and business;

•             Write and deliver complex code and modules including the walkthroughs according to the requirements of the functional and technical specifications;

•             Ensure all risks and are raised and escalated that pose a significant impact to deliverables;

•             Ensure established Service Management processes and procedures are understood and followed to the highest standards, and co-ordinate problem resolution with the appropriate resolver groups;

•             Conduct the analysis, definition, documentation and/or testing of application software changes and system enhancements;

•             Support Global Sales teams with completion of Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and product demonstrations when required;

•             Complete implementation project tasks on time, to SITA standards and to the satisfaction of the customer;

•             Provide product, process and solution consultancy to customers and internal SITA teams as required;

•             Conduct audits and post migration lessons learned as well as internal processes and procedures for continuous improvements

 

Minimum 5 years of software development, data transformation experience

 

Minimum 3 years of relevant travel industry experience, preferably in the in the area of airline systems application support or delivery

 

Software Related:

 

•             Good working knowledge of PERL scripting language and usage of PERL modules
