Java Architect

3-4 months Contract
Job Description:
Work will include
· working with architecture and design leads across the Digital organization and broader JPMC organization on business and technical architecture of the platform
· defining overall business services platform strategy and architecture
· evaluating open source and vendor products
· conducting hands on POCs to prove concepts/products
Qualifications:
Specific Technical and Business Skills:
Required
· 5+ years as architect, development lead building enterprise scale internet/customer facing systems at a Fortune 500 organization
· 3+ years' experience working in an Agile environment
· Strong understanding of OOP & SOA principles, design patterns, industry best practices
· Strong understanding of Java concurrency, concurrency patterns, experience building thread safe code
· Experience with TDD, BDD, code testability standards, JUnit/Mockito (or other mocking framework), Cucumber
· Experience with IDEs such as RAD/Eclipse
· Experience building REST and SOAP web services using Java
· Strong understanding of J2EE server side technologies: XML, JMS, JAX-WS, CXF
· Strong experience with Spring Framework
· Experience with open source frameworks, specifically from Apache, Google, Netflix
· Experience with messaging architectures
· Experience with multiple database platforms (RDBMS, NoSQL)
· Experience with ORM tools such as iBatis and Hibernate
· Experience with high volume, mission critical applications
· Experience working in an Agile environment
· Experience working on large and medium scale software projects
· Experience building distributed systems at Internet scale
· Experience working in a fast-paced financial services/digital focused delivery environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
· Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
· Experience with tuning high volume applications
· Thorough knowledge of SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle)
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
· Previous experience working in financial services
· Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Web Services
· Experience with caching products like Gemfire and Hazelcast
· Experience working with no-SQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra
Education:
· B.S or M.S (Computer Science preferred), should have proven course work in several computer software, algorithms, data structures, programming languages subject areas

DevOps engineer with Video background:
· 7-8 plus years experience
· Ability to work on technical tasks with minimal supervision
· Expert level Linux
· Java experience 2+ years
· Integration and Troubleshooting experience
· Role will require component level validation and testing as client releases software
· Deployment automation experience e.g. Chef will be plus
· VOD CMS experience will be big plus
