Position Description
This position requires strong hands-on development experience and familiarity with all stages of the software development life cycle. The senior programmer will be called upon to produce complex solutions for our new and existing software solutions within limited timeframes. We are looking for web developers with 5+ years of experience in web development using the .NET platform.
Essential Job Functions
- Code functional updates/new functionality into existing web-based applications to support the client's mission
- Collaborate with analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new and existing software programs and applications
- Research and implement requirements and specifications in software solutions
- Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed
- Execute Unit Testing to ensure the quality of program logic, data processing, and error resolution
- Responsibility for work products as required to ensure project and technical standards are maintained
- Demonstrated ability to write change documentation for internal use
- Run and monitor performance tests on new and existing software for the purpose of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging
- Liaise with network administrators, technical support, business analysts, and other software engineers to resolve defects in products or company systems
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices
- Keep abreast of new and existing technologies and techniques and be able to apply them to projects
- Participate in and/or lead code reviews as necessary to ensure compliance with established programming standards
- Help train and provide guidance to junior software development staff
Experience in the following areas is required:
- 5+ years .NET web development using ASP.NET, specifically in C#
- 3+ years MVC development on the .NET platform
- Working knowledge of mobile development concepts for iOS and Android
- Experience with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and SOA
- Expertise in design patterns
- Client scripting using JavaScript and jQuery/jQuery UI
- Expertise in Angular JS, Knockout JS, or other Javascript frameworks
- T-SQL for SQL 2008/2012, particularly stored procedures and user-defined functions
- IIS 7 and IIS 8 installation, configuration, and administration
- Active Directory programming a plus
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent
