Job Title: Solution Architect (Infrastructure)

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will define and drive the global Compute architecture strategy. Develop compute strategies and standard solutions that flex and adapt cost and capabilities in alignment with business need. Architected solutions must be sustainable and cost effective while delivering stability, availability, and performance in alignment with business requirements. The Compute Architect span of responsibility will cover the areas of servers, server and application virtualization, high availability, storage and backup & recovery. Stay up to date with compute and related technology trends and new capabilities. Formulate strategies to evolve compute architecture by leveraging new features and capabilities that drive and deliver efficiencies, improve service, and reduce cost. Manage and maintain the global compute standards, patterns and offerings. Partner with peer technology EAs on the alignment, integration and convergence of compute technologies and strategies with other technology domain strategies to best align overall EA technology standards and offerings. Develop communications and presentations to articulate the value and rational for introduction of new solutions or changes in strategy. Present and drive alignment and adoption of architecture evolution to EA peers, service engineering, delivery and operation owners, and leadership teams to gain alignment, support, and project funding to move strategies forward. Partner with service tower owner to perform analysis and understand root cause for reoccurring incidents that impact compute service delivery. Collaborate with peer EA and service engineering, delivery and operation owners to develop strategies and solutions to eliminate these incidents from the infrastructure.
Desired Qualifications:
• Significant experience in the architecture, design development, and deployment of enterprise compute solutions
• Significant experience in deploying large, complex solutions at Fortune 100 class companies
• Experience in the areas of infrastructure, middleware, integration, and solution development
• Broad infrastructure background and with proven experience in technology and methodology and building environments in a distributed, global, environment.
• Solid technical aptitude, leadership, mentoring, and customer facing skills
• Stays up-to-date with technology and industry trends for compute technologies by proactively participating in training, self-study, conferences, webcasts, user group participation, reading or other relevant means
• Experience in developing and materializing technology strategies and roadmaps
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid technical aptitude, leadership, mentoring, and customer facing skills
• Strong Financial Acumen and experience in developing business case justification including technical and financial analysis
• Strong understanding of financial modeling to include ROI and NPV
• A minimum of 10 years as an architect or senior engineer
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
