JOB TITLE: Engineer, IT Storage

Required Skills: 
This is a Level 3 role, expectations is to provide oversight and ownership of environment, troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. Shift hours will be 6p to 3a Mon Fri

What IT Storage contributes to Cardinal Health: 
IT Storage is responsible for implementing, operating, maintaining and protecting the Cardinal Health storage and backup environment. 
Demonstrates knowledge of storage, hardware, software and storage area network (SAN) technologies. 
Installs and configures storage hardware and software. 
Establishes and maintains storage system needs throughout IT organization.

What is expected of you and others at this level: 
Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects 
May contribute to the development of policies and procedures 
Strong analytical skills; Able to assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment. 
Strong organizational skills; must be able to prioritize work and ability to multitask without sacrificing attention to details. 
Able to work effectively with other groups and teams outside Storage team. 
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal guidance. 
Will be part of an on-call rotation 
May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Accountabilities in this role: 
Continually monitor storage and backup environment for health and stability. 
Provision/Administer storage on EMC VMAX, VNX, Isilon, Data domain, Avamar; IBM XIV, VERITAS NetBackup, Actifio and Nexenta. 
Understanding of Cisco and Brocade SAN Fabric, maintaining the Backup, Fabric and SAN/NAS strategy. 
Incident management and troubleshooting. 
Will handle multiple tickets for change, tasks and incidents of various levels (P1, P2 & P3) adhering to specific SLAs around each ticket. 
Working knowledge of Linux, Unix (AIX, HP, Sun) and Windows operating systems 
4+ years of experience with both block and file storage, SAN fabrics and backup solutions

Qualifications: 
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience 
4+ years experience in related field preferred
