• Hands on
• Building clusters, tuning etc.
• WAN Gateway between clusters
• Linux scripting
• Tuning application
• Spinup new VMS for s cluster
• Gemfire 7-8.2 (9 is most recent)
• Won't take anything below 7
• Need to be 6months+ experience
• Ability to determine ideal metrics for a GemFire environment
• Deployments
• Ability to look at roadmap-getting ahead of upgrades, etc.
• There is an Enterprise team for production support
• Deployment s and production support on call rotation that will end after March
• Still some need for flexible after hours for all hands on deck that might require overnight work
• Good Unix skills
• Implementing good processes
• Working with Pivotal Support – weekly calls with this vendor
• 3 main applications
• Operations
• Commercial – cargo
• Creating financial
• A little Business Analyst work
• Majority of work = working with developers

 

Skills

• Sr. level GemFire Administrative skills
• GemFire version 7 at least
• Linux scripting
• Communication
• Working with developers, vendors, and management – BA work
• Experience building clusters, tuning, deployments, etc.
• 6+ months as a GemFire administrator
• Ability to determine ideal metrics for a GemFire Environment
