Overall Job Purpose
Work within the Technology Innovation Mobile team to oversee and participate in the creation of industry-leading Apps for Android specific application with an understanding and capability to contribute various mobile and web platforms. Provide expert knowledge and guidance on multiple mobile initiatives. Ensure that the development effort adheres to Barclaycard SDLC process. Give input to Mobile Solutions Delivery Director on new technologies and areas of innovation.
Continue to grow and excel as a Mobile Developer.
Key Accountabilities
· Develop and update new & existing mobile solutions as a part of the Mobile Solutions Delivery Team.
· Work with User Experience team members to create new and innovative ways to improve Barclaycard US customer experience.
· Development tasks include: coding, testing, debugging, documenting, peer-reviewing, deploying, monitoring, and support. All tasks are performed in accordance with industry best practices and specific internal procedures and standards.
· Work with internal departments to provide associated artifacts required for the successful completion of development and maintenance assignments.
· Contribute to task identification, and work effort estimates for development and maintenance activities
· Adhere to SDLC process and provide necessary design documentation as it relates to feature requirements
Professional Qualification and Technical Skills:
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in Android Mobile Development
· 5 years of full life-cycle and iterative development, with a good understanding of test-driven development
· Experience with Android SDK.
· Experience with iOS SDK a plus
· Previous experience in working with internet/intranet banking applications preferred
· Experience with, and strong understanding of, software versioning concepts using Subversion.
· Able to manipulate images in Photoshop and cut ready made images.
· Experience developing and using Web Services
· Experience developing in an Agile development environment
· Strong understanding and experience in Object-Oriented solution design using UML
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
· Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related major
· Knowledge of HTML5 is desired, but not required.
