Role: Sr IT Business Systems Analyst/Cognos
Location: Harrisburg, PA
Duration: 9 months +
Industry: Electronics
Must Haves:
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience and/or Functional Business Process expertise
• Knowledge and expertise in business/system analysis
• Technical leadership to architect end-to-end business intelligence solutions leveraging selected tools.
• Experience providing end user support & developing and delivering training.
• Multi-dimensional database and Cognos product knowledge including: Cognos – Cognos Connection, Analysis Studio, Query Studio and Report Studio expertise.
• Framework Manager and Model and Package building.
• Experience with developing native SQL language.
• Experience with Oracle Databases and related Technology (e.g., PL/SQL). ORACLE 10G experience is preferred.
• Strong problem solving capabilities. Results oriented. Relies on fact-based logic for decision-making.
• Some experience in project management utilizing best practice disciplines desired
• Strong Cognos experience with Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio and Analysis Studio.
• Ability to manage assignments thru the use of our ticket systems, Remedy
• Various documentation tools to prepare end user documentation or project documentation, including multi-media applications
• Ability to estimate effort required in developing/maintaining Cognos packages and reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills for driving strategic initiatives through large and diverse organizations. Must be able to achieve results through others.
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong customer focus
• Ability to work with multiple projects and work streams at one time. Must be able to deliver results based upon project deadlines.
• Experience in deploying and supporting client / server and web-based technology.
• Must be able to travel worldwide and will flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
Education – Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or Engineering OR equivalent experience and knowledge required.
Nice to Haves:
· Experience working in a global organization a plus
· Knowledge of XML and JavaScript is desirable.
· Agile BI tools other than Cognos will be a plus.
