Position  :   Systems/ Data Analysts  – Healthcare/ Underwriting Applications

Location :   Massachusetts,MA

Duration :   6+ Months

 

2 BI Analyst Openings – 1 BI Developer Opening (Healthcare domain Need underwriting background) Systems Data Analyst will serve as a subject matter expert for Underwriting systems and processes. Responsible for developing and documenting system and functional requirements, technical design solutions and documentation for new or changing applications within the Underwriting business. Responsible for end to understanding of all core system technologies and data integrations supported within the IT underwriting solution team. Key Accountabilities: Develop a strong understanding of the business and technical aspects of all Underwriting applications to help guide projects towards optimum solutions. Works closely with end-users to understand their business requirements, and creates decision support systems, data analysis tools, and reports for tactical business problem solving. Works with project developers to integrate effective database designs. Acts as a consultant in the areas of conceptual and physical database design, development, implementation and maintenance. Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation. Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients. Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions Possesses significant knowledge of complex database concepts and ensures project teams are effectively employing appropriate database design techniques. Possesses demonstrated work experience with more than one relational database management system. Understands the benefits of the various programming languages and accurately suggests the use of the appropriate technology for the application. Possesses significant knowledge of OO concepts and ensures they are consistently and appropriately applied in client engagements. Possesses significant knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures and accurately suggests the use of the appropriate technology for the application. Understands browser/client specific compatibility issues   Key Competencies: Technical proficiency with analytics systems and Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications Development background Understanding of Database Development and or Administration skills (SQL Server, Oracle) Familiarity with Window Administration Experience with and strong ability to manage and coordinate complex integrations ETL Development and or support skills Expertise in design (data modeling, ETL, end user tools, web portals) Strong data analysis and BI skills; Development and or DBA experience Technologies: MS Access, ODI, Informatica, SQL Server, Cognos, SAS, DB2, Netezza, TIM/ TAM, Sun Access Manager, LDAP, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) agent, Java & J2EE, Unix Shell Scripts, UNIX / AIX, NAS share, VBA, Borland Delphi, IIS, Windows Server, SQL Server. BA or BS degree in Systems, IT, Business Management, or related degree preferred; or equivalent experience Minimum 5-8 years' experience with IT systems in the healthcare payer space. 2+ years of business processing, analyst or project management Knowledge of underwriting and actuarial sciences is required
