JOB SUMMARY
• Serve as lead or technical expert to define and maintain the architectural frameworks/patterns, processes, standards and guidelines related to data services architecture; conduct studies of new technologies to provide more efficient and cost effective architecture solutions;
• Define data services per core and support technology, data entities, business functions and/or subject areas that transcend organizational and functional boundaries.
• Provide technical and architectural subject matter expertise to the various development teams including communicating architectural decisions and mentoring other technical staff around the various development technologies and decisions.
• Identify core common data shared across the enterprise and participate in enterprise wide efforts to reach common understanding of those data.
• May serve as lead, technical expert or project manager to team(s) concerned with development, networking and/or project management to coordinate changes and support enterprise technology initiatives.
• Conduct studies of new technologies to provide more efficient and cost effective architecture solutions
• Oversee multiple projects in order to preserve the architectural vision and protect stakeholder interests as well as to meet operational and financial reporting requirements
• Confer with business units and application development staff to understand both the business and technical requirements and to define architectural constraints
• Create performance metrics and traceability maps to determine the effectiveness of architecture solutions and facilitate governance. Keep abreast of relevant architecture best practices.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Hands-on experience in Enterprise Data Services development and delivery using SOA architecture . This is a key required skill.
• Hands-on experience with TIBCO Business Works, Enterprise Messaging Service, Business Events etc.
• At least 4-5 years as a team lead and/or architect of TIBCO based solutions
• Highly specialized in XML/XSLT and other XML related tools and technologies
• 10+ years of experiences in full life cycle of application/system development
• Minimum 8 years programming with Java, J2EE, XML, Web Services.
• Minimum 7 years experience developing in distributed applications development (Database, Transaction Management)
• Minimum 6 years experience writing conceptual and detailed design documents, including UML diagrams.
• Minimum 6 years experience in developing large scale enterprise application
• Defining Data Services strategy, target state architecture, roadmap and cost/benefit analysis of various data services related projects/Initiatives
• Delivering solution architecture, High-Level Design and key code components for the data services Program
• Ability to Identify/delineate, Master/Reference data from transactional/operational data
• Presenting architecture and design alternatives at the architecture review board, several management and technology meetings to get consensus.
• Expertise in Data integration and access patterns
• Service oriented architecture as it related to vending shared data including best practices
• Representation of architecture in relevant artifacts effectively and presentation of the same to varied audience ranging from developers to senior management
• Expertise in one or more of the architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman, Federal Enterprise Architecture etc.
• Strong communicator with team lead capabilities to provide technical leadership end-to-end on data services projects
• Strong ability to understand and represent high level technical capabilities. General understanding of technical applications and systems.
• Strong understanding of SOA concepts, design patterns, tools, techniques, best practices and the ability to establish a SOA environment.
• Must have proven ability to provide project estimates and work-breakdown schedules.
• Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written. Including ability to work with all management levels.
• Ability to share technical knowledge and clearly communicate technical concepts.
• Must have solid leadership and team-building skills, and possess a positive attitude.
• Must have high integrity and accountability, willing to do what it takes to make the team successful.
• Must have proven ability to manage priorities and timelines.
• Must be extremely responsive, able to work under pressure in crisis with a strong sense of urgency.
• Responsible, conscientious, organized, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
