We are looking for a POSTGRESS DBA support world's leader in providing IT consulting and software services to the finest global organizations client.

This is a 6 Months Contracts based in Omaha, NE

 

Role: POSTGRESS DBA

Location: Omaha, NE

Duration: 6 Months Contract

 

Job Description

·         PostGreSQL and should have good knowledge/expertize on all DB concepts (PLSQL, Stored Proc etc..).

·         Good communication skills and should be able to drive things independently.

·         They will be working very closely with client's DBA team, so good team work is important.

·         Knowledge of one program platform (Tandem, OS, Windows, Linux/UNIX) is required

·         Knowledge of one or more of the following may be preferred: SQL fundamentals (e.g., Tandem SQL, Informix, FOCUS, IBM DB2, NT SQL Server, etc.), SQL Server 2008 Administration, performance optimization & tuning, ETL (SSIS), SSRS, experience with Oracle database systems

·         Minimum 3 years using database management software (e.g., MySQL, etc.) to include design and management as well as replication and clustering experience preferred

 

Database Support –

·         Provide a quality, high performance database processing environment by defining assigned database tables, queries, stored procedures, views, etc., coordinating physical

·         changes to computer databases in a timely manner while adhering to established departmental standards and procedures

·         Assist with the tuning and performance of the database environment, determining optimum values for database attributes

·         Monitor hardware resource utilization, recommending to management additional hardware necessary for forecasted levels, working with staff to maximize performance

On Call Support -

·         Track all problems ensuring the quality and timely resolution of problems and the unique needs of every customer are exceeded

·         Assist in minimizing on call support issues by having access to or keeping up to date on change control documentation

·         Respond to 24-hour/7-day-per-week service needs as required

·         Escalate to supervisor any situation outside the employee's control that could adversely impact the services provided

·         Ensure disaster recovery and business procedures are appropriately utilized as established by management, documenting all problems and resolutions on a daily basis
