POSITION
Manual QA Tester
6 month + contract
Downers grove, IL (LOCALS)

AS400 / iseries ( Green screens ) testing experience
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for providing testing services for new applications, additions or modifications to existing applications, hardware/infrastructure upgrades, hardware/infrastructure failover simulations
· Responsible for providing testing and documentation services that span multiple platforms including i-Series ( AS/400), Server and Webapplications most likely in the same project
· Participate in project design reviews, leveraging expert application knowledge, to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules and/or system conflicts
· Design, write, revise and verify test scripts and test procedures for product evaluation to attain highest quality standards
· Develop and manage test plans, manual test scripts for user interface, functionality, system and "ad-hoc testing"
· Responsible for following the project through the full testing cycle until post implementation monitoring is complete in compliance with department standards
· Execute regression tests, functional tests and data tests
· Verify that programs function according to user requirements.
· Identify, log, prioritize, communicate, and resolve issues with developers and/or project managers.
· Monitor bug resolution efforts and track progress
· Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
· Document test procedures to ensure reusability and compliance with department standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum of 5 years of QA / testing experience
· Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining quality
· Well-versed in all testing methodologies (white vs. black box test work, system vs. functional)
· iSeries, AS/400 testing experience
· Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving quality issues ISeries, Server and Web knowledge as it relates to testing and documentation is required
· Proven problem solving skills
· MS Word, MS Excel, Lotus Notes, Power Point, SQL
· Strong written and oral communication skills
