AS/400 IBM iSeries Consultant

The consultant shall deliver solutions for all the duties below that not only meet and comply with the standards of ASR, but also support County's IBM AS400 Operations and Programming staff, as well as other end-users. The Consultant shall work under the guidance of the ASR's Information Systems Supervisor, and the Systems Administrator that is directly responsible for the IBM iSeries.
The Consultant shall perform all of the following duties:
1. Complete the Implementation of the Advanced Job Scheduler on the IBM iSeries System.
2. Perform IBM AS400 Security functions, by monitoring and securing system access on the IBM AS400 Computer System.
3. Support all IBM iSeries hardware upgrades, OS/400 upgrades, system peripheral software and system configurations
4. Support existing Users, Application Development and Operations of the IBM AS400
5. Support the automation and creation of User ID's
6. Provide assistance and training to ASR's IBM iSeries Operators
7. Create/modify jobs on the Advanced Job Scheduler
8. Develop, test and/or modify Control Language (CL)
9. Download and apply PTF's and cumulative packages as required
10. Analyze and resolve issues with TCP/IP communications
