Location: Lake Oswego, OR (near Portland, OR)
Duration: 1-2 years

looking for a Lead Java Developer for a 1-2 year project with our healthcare client in Lake Oswego, OR.
 
You will report to the Applications Development Manager and will assist in design, development, and unit testing within the ClaimsConnect solution. You will aid in coaching and instructing Associate and Intermediate Applications Developers.
 
Essential Functions:
Lead the Development and maintain software for the ClaimsConnect solution.
Analyze and review business, functional and high-level technical requirements.
Create and support detailed project estimates and project work plans.
Develop code jointly and independently for all modules within the ClaimsConnect solution, following development standards.
Plan, participate, and lead code reviews for changes and enhancements that ensure standards compliance and systems interoperability.
Identify code support issues, action resolutions, and provide technical assistance for moderately complex problems.
Prepare and package production-ready code modules for staging.
Rapidly learn and apply new technologies.
Effectively communicate with other Developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Quality Control, and across other technology team boundaries
Commit to a mindset of quality and continuous improvement.
 
Qualifications
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or 5 years of equivalent work experience.
  • 9 plus years’ experience in design, analysis, development, testing, and implementation of an organization's applications.
  • 5 years’ experience with Java J2EE technologies.
  • 1 plus years in a Healthcare environment
  • 2 plus years as a development Lead
  • 4 years’ experience in SOAP based web services using Java technologies.
  • 4  years’ experience in RDBMS such as Oracle, Cache and tools such as SQL
  • 2 plus years of SOA
  • 4 years’ experience in Middleware, packaging
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, team player, ability to work under changing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with EPIC, TAPESTRY, Clarity is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of object oriented design and programming.
  • Experience with automated unit testing.
  • Experience with automated build processes.
  • Experience with clustered solutions at both the application and database layers.
  • All type of Epic application experience is a plus
  • Being able to mentor in Agile/SCRUM and/or Extreme Programming development methodologies is a plus
