Job Title: BI Engineer

Location: San jose, CA

Duration: 6+ months

Must be GC or USC

 

MUST HAVE- Insurance software development OR Pentaho ETL/Reporting (Candidates without either will be disqualified immediately)

Responsibilities:

·  Work with team members (e.g., technical leads, architects, developers, etc.) and customers to determine project scope and requirements, set system goals, identify and resolve system issues, as well as ensuring the system is implemented as designed.

·  Working directly with teams and customers to capture and refine business requirements into core system capabilities.

·  Assisting developers, analysts, and designers in conceptualizing and validating Business Intelligence solutions.

·  Developing, configuring builds, reviewing and unit testing Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, and Big Data software and/or solutions.

·  Designing test cases and supporting test case execution.

·  Working directly with business users and customers to provide support and answer questions.

Basic Qualifications

·  Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline

·  Understanding of financial data and its application

·  2+ years of professional experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics position

·  Top notch communication skills to convey key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms

·  Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting systems and working with technical teams

·  Expertise with MS Excel, SQL and other Business Intelligence tools.

·  Track record of successful development and implementation of applications in new computing architectures using emerging technologies.
