JOB DESCRIPTION: 

 

Benchmark Description:

Provides functional and empirical analysis related to the design, development and implementation of software operating systems for the company's products, including, but not limited to, utility software, development software, and diagnostic software. Participates in the development of test strategies, devices and systems. 

Summary:

Analyze, develop, modify, install, test and maintain operating systems software. Monitor systems capacity and performance, plan and execute disaster recovery procedures and provide Tier II technical support. Act as project leader. 

Responsibilities:

Formulate/define specifications for complex operating software programming applications or modify/maintain complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer. Responsible for the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs.

Customize purchased applications and assist in maintaining program libraries and technical manuals.

Diagnose, isolate and de-bug software problems and performs problem resolution.

Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software products.

Evaluate vendor supplied software packages. Modify and/or debug vendor-supplied utilities and packages. 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 

Other Skills:

7-10 years' experience in a formal or structured software development environment.

Experience managing, planning, developing, and installing software operating systems.

Must possess a good understanding of systems programming, graphical and web-based user interfaces and control languages. 

Experience: Candidate needs to have actual experience with the following system enviornments. 
DATABASE SUPPORT: 
SQL Server 2005 
Microsoft Access
