Job Title: Hadoop Developer
Description of Work:
· Work on very large Hadoop clusters and cutting edge Big data technologies
· Work on engineering the data platform for scale, performance, and rock-solid reliability
· Creation of application tools and frameworks
· Provide tools for open and flexible access to data
· Support Hadoop Data Developer by creating UDFs and other custom tools
· Programming in Map-Reduce, Hive/Pig
· Strong skills in Java, Hadoop and native Map-Reduce Development
· Experience on Linux platforms
· Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
· Experience with Hive, Pig, Oozie, HDP 1.2+ preferred
· Passion for open source communities and philosophies Team Structure:
Developers are grouped into sprint teams with project based responsibilities to Delivery Managers/Solution Owners. Qualifications:
· 2+ years of Java Development experience
· 1+ year of Hadoop Development Experience
· Map-Reduce, Pig and Hive experience
· Hortonworks or Cloudera distribution skills (Hortonworks preferred but not required)
· Strong communication and creative thinking skills Plusses:
· Tez experience
· Spark experience
· Testing experience
Required Skills:
-Candidate need to be have a strong Java Development background
-6+ months of Hadoop experience required
-The client conducts a VERY technical interview and skills assessment. |
