Our client is in need of an experienced Android Developer with strong knowledge of mobile security and who is familiar with Java crypto APIs. This is an opportunity to join a growing team of architects, analysts, database engineers and UI designers working towards delivery of leading-edge mobile banking solutions. Proven experience working in a high-volume, web-oriented environment is also desired. We are looking for a candidate who has multiple apps published and/or in production.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for developing mobile solutions for the Android platform, working directly with an existing mobile solutions environment that supports both end-user interaction and back-end connectivity (core systems in banking, entertainment and media). You will work with a variety of team members, including architects, analysts, database engineers and UI designers to deliver leading-edge mobile solutions.
• At least one year of relevant work experience
• Must have experience developing Android apps
• Experience developing apps in a professional capacity (submitting to the store, etc.) is preferred
• Experience building apps using ant scripts and/or build automation tools (e.g. Jenkins) is preferred
• Past experience with JIRA a plus
• Past experience developing on OS X a plus
• iOS development experience a plus
Qualifications
• Deep understanding of Java language fundamentals (e.g. threading, etc.)
• Deep understanding of Android fundamentals (e.g. Activity lifecycle, etc.)
• Strong aesthetic sense of proper object-oriented design
• Strong debugging and trouble-shooting skills
• Familiar with web communication standards (e.g. HTTP, REST, JSON, etc.)
• Familiar with socket-level I/O concepts is preferred
• Ability to work with Android layouts without using the visual editor
• Ability to live-demo and engage in technical discussion of past work is preferred
