We are looking for a Technology Lead - US – OBIEE Administrator to support world's leader in providing IT consulting and software services to the finest global organizations client.

This is 6 Months Contract Position based in Cranston, RI

 

Job Title: Technology Lead - US – OBIEE Administrator

Location: Cranston, RI

Duration: 6 Months Contract

Extension Possible: May be

 

Work Experience: 8 – 10 Years


Job Description:

The OBIEE administrator oversees the administration, management, and maintenance of the customer's OBIEE platforms. This includes operation and maintenance of the application, user support and administration, deployment of repository files and web catalog objects, support during patch and upgrade cycles, monitoring and optimizing system performance, managing version control of application objects, and other activities associated with ensuring the proper operation of the environment.

 

The roles and responsibilities include but not limited to.

·         Monitoring the overall BI server usage and capturing the usage spikes to improve the performance.

·         Migration of catalog items between Development, QA and Production server.

·         To ensure all scheduled jobs are setup and executed successfully.

·         To ensure all data validation jobs are working properly and the data warehouse is accurate.

·         Ensuring access controls are in place and user account management.

·         Assisting users with technical issues and providing guidance on the proper use of the BI/DW tools.

·         Communicating when supported versions will expire and plan for upgrades with management and customers. Analyze and plan the BI software upgrades and patches as part from the Admin team.

·         Developing migration project plan and estimates, managing requirements, and providing progress reports for all OBIEE migration projects as a part of the Admin team.

·         Server space management for various log files, cache files, back up files etc.

·         Repository merging through the Command Line and Patch method also migration of the RPD's from one environment to another.

·         Develop Reports / Dashboards with different Analytics Views (Drill-Down, Pivot Table, etc.)

·         Involved in Performance Tuning of reports by identifying the indexes required on the backend tables and also from the data available in the Cache.

·         Monitor, maintain, and promote data quality. Proactively identify, troubleshoot, resolve and document data quality and integrity issues on the support Admin team.

·         Optimized performance using Indexes, Aggregate tables and materialized views.

 

Location:  Cranston, RI.

Qualifications Basic

·         Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education

·         At least 8 years of experience in software development life cycle

·         At least 8 years of experience in DW/BI/Reporting and related technologies and tools - MUST

·         At least 8 years of hands on experience in OBIEE Administration activities

·         At least 6 years of hands on experience in Design, Development & Build activities in OBIEE 

·         Understanding of Unix/Linux system, file systems, shell scripting

 

Skills

·         Demonstrated experience and ability in to following areas required:

·         Designs, implements, and maintains OBIEE RPD business models using star and/or snowflake schemas.

·         Migrates OBIEE RPD repository and web catalog objects between development, staging and production OBIEE environments.

·         Assists, defines, and oversees OBIEE system organization, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation.

·         Analyzes impact on OBIEE application before making any changes to system.

·         Configures and maintains OBIEE suite software (BI Server, Interactive Dashboards, OBI Answers, BI Publisher)

·         Manages user and group access permissions to maintain the security of the OBIEE application.

·         Maintains and configures WebLogic server and uses Linux commands in support of the OBIEE application.

·         Develops Oracle SQL and PL/SQL procedures to support the BI application.

·         Designs and implements business intelligence applications.

·         Uses version control techniques to maintain history of system objects.

 

Competencies

·         Coordinates activities with data warehouse and system administration teams.

·         Assists and supports users with technical support issues. Responds to and provides assistance to help desk.

·         Works collaboratively with data warehouse team to optimize system performance.

 

Preferred

·         Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

·         Experience in Financial domain

·         Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment

·         Soft Skills: Good communication, analytical and presentation skills, problem solving skills and learning attitude
