SQL Developer
Location: Winston Salem, NC
Duration: 2 +Months Contract

Rate:45/hr on C2C

 

Day to Day:
Looking for an experienced database architect to lead the support and development of a MS SQL Server database environment. This position will provide broad technical expertise in designing and developing web-based applications, data integration applications, business intelligence applications, and related services as well as ensuring the health, integrity, scalability and availability of the SQL Server data architecture.

 

Responsibilities:
Designing and developing the SQL Server database architecture. Collaborate on the creation and implementation of
standards for development and maintenance of data management technologies. SQL Server instance and database management as it relates to environment management and planning, hardware availability and capacity, etc. Monitoring of all production and non-production SQL Server databases to ensure availability and to proactively manage database growth requirements; database backup/ recovery by developing automated strategies to perform backups, verifications, and alerts of any database backup failures, developing high-availability strategies for all relevant production SQL Server databases utilizing methods such as database mirroring, clustering, log shipping, replication, etc. Developing,recommending, administering, maintaining and auditing policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the SQL Serverenvironment, instances and databases. Collaborates with other architects to align database architecture with information technology road map.

 

Other Duties:
Installation, configuration, patching, etc. SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 database environments, application trouble shooting.application performance tuning, etc. Migration of SQL Server databases between environments. Identify and develop solutions for optimizing reports and queries.
No BI experience in last 4 years or required
Great communication and written skills
Mid-Sr. level
