Role: Sr Level. Java Senior Developer/Architect

Location: Concord, NH

Duration: 12 Months

 

Required Skills  Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Java business and persistence developer using JEE technologies including SQL and Java to support a high volume application

Minimum of 3 years of extensive experience using an RDBMS with at least 1 year with DB2 and/or equivalent relational database

 

Minimum of 2 years of experience with IRAD/Eclipse

 

Minimum of 1 years EJB experience, including EJB3

 

 

Hi-Level Responsibilities  * Read and understand existing complex COBOL programs and convert those

   programs to Java using EJB3

 

* Perform unit and functional testing against those converted modules

 

* Assist and mentor less senior conversion developers

 

* Perform code reviews from other team members

 

* Assist with conversion framework development when necessary

 

 

Preferred Skills * Ability to come up to speed quickly both technically and functionally

 

* Ability to read and understand complex COBOL code (or come up to speed very quickly in COBOL) for reverse engineering

 

* Ability to assist junior team members with issue, problems, and questions

 

* Become an additional go-to person for technical questions for both local

   and remote (onshore) teams

 

* Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams

 

* Experience in large-scale development and design

 

* Experience and knowledge of performance and performance testing

 

* Have a committed and "do what it takes to get it done" attitude

 

Other    Experience in the Health and Human Services/ Title IV-A Eligibility business

 

 

Candidates with legacy conversion and/or MyBatis experience highly regarded

Technical Environment Includes  * Java 1.5+

 

* EJB3

 

* MyBatis

 

* DB2

 

* WebSphere / RAD / Eclipse
