Position: Solution Architect
Work Location: Green bay WI
Duration: 6+ Months
SOLUTION/DATA ARCHITECT
Solution/Data Architect would work with EDW and ETL Architect and DW/Shared Services teams within the Bank to develop a deep understanding of business objectives and strategies. This position interfaces with business and IT leaders, all technology areas and the designated business line(s) to develop understanding of key strategies, business drivers and business objectives in order to research technology landscape and recommend technology strategy. This position must advocate and help promote effective use of technology solutions as a design consultant with strong knowledge of best practices.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Over 10 years experience as a data architect
· Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools (like ERWIN/Toad), data mapping tools, and data profiling tools
· Ability to understand project goals and objectives, foresee project scope and plan end-to-end delivery
· Hands-on experience with large-scale data modeling, data mining and business requirements gathering / analysis
· Experience with Data Warehousing data population techniques for target structures such as Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, and highly normalized data models
· Experience in implementing enterprise data management processes, procedures, and decision support
· Strong understanding of relational data structures, theories, principles, and practices
· Strong familiarity with analyzing source systems and data from such systems, metadata management and associated processes
· Highly developed knowledge of database design principles with specific application to data warehouse development including the handling of history, support for slowly changing dimensions and techniques for addressing performance issues
· Experience in building and maintaining database applications including creation and administration of database objects like tables, indexes, views, physical data constraints, access privileges and general database administrative tasks
· Experience in building customized code in SQL, PL / SQL (or equivalent) or other Data-mining / ETL tools preferably in an Informatica environment
· SQL Server and/or Oracle required - knowledge of both will be an added advantage
· Identify, analyze and translate business requirements into reliable and reusable solution architectures and designs to deliver BI capabilities to business stakeholders.
· Develop reporting and analytics solutions to solve business problems and support decision making at the strategic, tactical and operational level.
· Work and collaborate with other members of the DW/BI teams to develop and maintain the DW/BI reference architecture and contribute reusable BI assets to it.
· Create and maintain the architecture road map for enterprise Data Warehouse/Data Mart; Consult with technology/business on integration and design activities
· Lead the development and maintenance of BI reporting standards.
· Superb Communication skills, ability to interact with business independently, organize and handle JAD sessions and other team meetings
· Ability to manage onsite/offshore coordination and guide the offshore ETL Teams
· Multitasking / experience working with concurrent projects
· Experience creating documentation including functional specifications, source to target mappings, system specifications
· Experience with SAS and BI tools like Business Objects is desirable
