We are looking for a UNIX Admin to support world's leader in providing IT consulting and software services to the finest global organizations client. This is a 6 Months Contract based in San Antonio, TX.
DIRECT CLIENT
Role: UNIX Admin
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Location: San Antonio, TX
Required:
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required. Will also consider one year of relevant work experience in lieu of every year of education."
• At least 4 years of experience with Linux and Solaris Administration.
• At least 4 years of experience with VCS, VxVM, Solaris Zones
Preferred:
• At least 5 years of experience in creating requirement specifications based on Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes
• At least 5 years of experience in Unix Administration Skills
• Work in a 24x7 operations model in a Global Delivery Model
• Act as second level support within the incident management process for the Solaris, HP-UX, Linux hardware and operating systems
• Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, System failure analysis and recovery; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems
• Liaison with hardware/software vendors to troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Troubleshoot server backup job failures and ensure servers are ready for backup
• Perform file restores for users, for system recovery
• Participate in hardware and software migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity.
• Participate as a project team member in service delivery and service support projects to deliver new technology and to enhance existing technology
• Perform day-to-day preventive maintenance tasks to ensure that Solaris, HP-UX, and Linux Servers are available and performing appropriately, that they are highly available to partners and the end-user community, and that any issues are being proactively resolved
