Test Automation Engineer Job Description
The Test Automation Engineer is responsible for providing Test Automation services for our web application. Design, develop and maintain automation test plans, test scripts and executes them to ensure systems meet the expected requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform test automation and service testing utilizing testing tools such Selenium, Soap-UI, etc.
- Develop, execute, and debug automated functional tests for Web applications
- Determine functional areas and test cases which are good candidates for automation.
- Work closely with QA team members, developers and other project team members in the process of automation.
- Participate in source code control, bug tracking, and software release activities as required for automation.
- Strong understanding of QA concepts and methodologies.
- Good understanding of databases and data warehousing.
- Proficient writing SQL queries.
- Effective at communicating testing activities and findings in oral and written forms.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of developers, managers and subject matter experts.
- Ability to control and manage own daily test activities.
- Experience leading testing initiatives on projects; with responsibility of identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Job Requirements:
· BS in Computer Science or related field.
· 4+ years in Test Automation role with strong hands-on experience with software development and test automation (Selenium) using JAVA.
· Strong experience testing Web Services (RESTful and SOAP) and Web based applications.
· Experience with cross browser automation (Selenium, Saucelabs).
· Solid knowledge of XML, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic and other programming/scripting languages.
· Experience in web and mobile applications is a must.
· Working knowledge of Continuous Integration and Jenkins experience is a plus.
· Work in a fast-paced agile environment.
· Responds appropriately and competently to the demands of work challenges when confronted with changes, ambiguity, adversity, and other pressures.
