Job Title: Network Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

 

Job Overview:

Support and configure monitoring tools in the infrastructure services. The successful candidate should have a good track record in monitoring and be prepared to spend time supporting the production system. They will be required to demonstrate a mature and constructive approach to troubleshooting.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

•             Decommissioning servers by removing monitoring tools

•             Granting and revoking permissions users on Rivermuse, Sentinel console, etc.

•             Troubleshooting TIMEOUTs, verifying that servers are still performing at production levels

•             Troubleshooting tier 3 sentinel issues and working with vendor to resolve bugs

•             Keeping informed on ~50-60 simultaneous issues in revolving emails

•             Troubleshooting network connectivity issues

•             Clearing and troubleshooting any alerts that are generated on Systems Management servers

 

Skill, Experience & General information Required:

Around 3 -5 years of experience on the below skills:

•             Basic programming knowledge

•             Basic levels of Linux scripting

•             Intermediate level of linux/unix based OS knowledge

•             Intermediate working knowledge of monitoring connectors for ex. HPSIM to Sentinel

•             Intermediate understanding and production use of Enterprise level (or capable) monitoring tools

o             Nagios

o             Cacti

o             Top

o             Zabbix

o             Munin

o             Etc.

•             Intermediate level of Windows server 2008/2012 knowledge

•             Intermediate network knowledge

•             Advanced level of miscellaneous Troubleshooting in an Enterprise environment
