What the project is that they will be working on:

The initial scope of work is related to upgrading an existing code
line. We want to upgrade the version of the .Net runtime from 1.1 to a
more modern (3.5 or higher) framework. In addition, we want the code
placed into the Jenkins CI server from a Git repository. We want an
independent MSBuild script (from an existing NAnt build script),
automated test suite (open to various frameworks), and some analysis
tools.

The second stage is to refactor the code line for better extensibility
and usability. This is strictly a development task that involves
restructuring the supervisor process - enable some auto discovery of
environment based on registry settings and/or file system signatures.
Provide better feedback and analytics including usage and issues.
Enable a remote upgrade capability. Cleanly separate code that
extracts data from the point of sale system from the portion worker
process that operates on the extracted data.

The third stage is to extend the system by building adapters to
various point of sale systems. This is an on-going task.


C# on .Net Framework 2.0 and higher.
Solid HTTP/Web Services client development
Experience with Continuous Integration using Jenkins
Understanding of SQL Server
Experience building Windows Services and understanding of Windows process model
Understanding of Windows Installer is a MUST.
