Job Title: Web Designer/Developer
Location: Sunnyvale, CA
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Max Rate: $45-47/hr
Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintaining and organizing HTML5/CSS3/Javascript specs and code
Translate conceptual ideas & design mocks into engaging visual designs and mobile/tablet-friendly HTML5 and CSS
Lead visual design throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial explorations through final design deliverables
Produce graphical elements for emails, landing pages, banners, site content, social media, and marketing projects such as pitches, co-promos, newsletters
Participate in reviews of wireframes and Photoshop comps and evaluate the best approach for front-end web development
Work with other designers to obtain and create all visual assets necessary for website production
Develop custom, dynamic user experience using JavaScript libraries, jQuery and Ajax
Responsible for understanding and finding solutions to browser quirks, cross-browser testing, alternate stylesheets
Responsible for fixing bugs
Rapidly prototype new features for testing
Produce deliverables such as storyboards, screen layouts, color palettes, typography, assets, and style guides
Building pages in our custom content management system
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years in a UX or Web Designer role; with experience designing mobile and web applications
BA in Graphic Design, Fine Art, Interaction Design or related field or equivalent experience
Compelling portfolio with examples of your fantastic work showing strong typography, color, and layout skills
Experience with hand-coding HTML5, CSS3, LESS or SASS and Javascript and developing web sites using modern techniques such as responsive design and the "mobile first" approach
Experience with Ajax and jQuery
Expert level experience with Adobe suite of design software
Bonus points if you're familiar with Adobe CQ5
Must be creative and technically talented with the ability to problem-solve, think independently and collaboratively to see the big picture
Prior experience in branding, visual communication design, marketing, and advertising a plus
Must be detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish priorities
Must possess time management skills and be able to meet deadlines
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to communicate effectively in English both in verbal and written formats.
