Position: Build/Release Engineer

Duration: 3+ Months

Location: Sparks, MD (Timonium)

Required:

 

·         Deploy Bill Me Later products and applications into test and production environments

·         Works closely with application developers to devise robust deployment, operating, monitoring, reporting for the Bill Me Later applications

·         Tunes application configuration to support optimize performance per developer

·         Troubleshoots applications to diagnose problems

·         Writes, debugs, maintains scripts in bash, perl, python, etc.

·         Evaluates and implements internal and third-party tools for appropriateness, ease-of- use, scalability, robustness

·         Coordinates with operations teams to create strategies and detailed plans for deployment sequencing, timing

·         5-10 years of Unix system administration, Software engineering, Release engineering, or Configuration management

·         Experience with release engineering, build or configuration management in Jboss/Tomcat web application environment highly desired;

·         Strong scripting and applications/web development background

·         Good understanding of the Software Development Life-Cycle

·         Basic understanding of Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management practices

·         Experience administering a large scale distributed application environment

·         Experience administering Java and C++ applications

·         Solid understanding of UNIX environment and network technology (symlinks, NAS devices, NFS/CIFS mounting)

·         Knowledge/experience with Unix platform

·         Excellent understanding of web architecture

·         Solid understanding of load balancing appliances in a web environment

·         Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with technical project leads, developers, quality assurance, and business team members

·         Excellent time management, written and communication skills, decision making, presentation, relationship and organization skills;

·         Must be self-starter and work effectively with minimal supervision

·         Ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and seek out process improvement opportunities

·         Strong verbal & written communication skills

·         Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

·         Flexible and open to changing needs and expectations

·         Able to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment

·         Proven ability to plan, organize and estimate

·         BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering required, MS degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred
