We are looking for a junior/mid-level Front End Developer/Designer with 3-5 years of experience.
Job Title: Front End Developer/Designer
Location: Midtown, NYC
Mode: F2F after phone
Job Type: Contract
Rate: 35/hr C2C
Duration: Long Term – 1 year at least
Job description:
- The front-end developer will have the opportunity to work on several cutting-edge and revolutionary web projects related to a news/educational platform that serves teachers, students, and lifelong learners.
- The front end developer will help lead, design, and execute front end development work for our web and mobile platforms.
- The position is for an experienced developer with strong design skills.
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience is required.
- This is a great opportunity to join a growing organization, and have a real impact.
Requirements include:
- Ability to hand-code all HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AJAX
- Experience using the JQuery library
- Using HTML5 to render a web page for a mobile devices
- Object Oriented development using JavaScript
- Ability to convert a Photoshop PSD to semantic HTML
- Fluent English speaker
- Strong Communication Skills
- Candidate must be willing to learn new technologies and work closely with senior developers
- Candidate must live nearby and be willing to come into the office at least 3 times a week
Desired skills include:
- Experience developing for mobile applications
- Experience using Titanium studio for cross platform mobile development
- Experience with Photoshop
- Strong design background
- Experience building wireframes
- Experience building and managing newsletter campaigns using a digital marketing platform such as Lyris HQ
- Familiarity with templating systems such as JSP
- Familiarity with versioning systems such as SVN / Git
