Position: MySQL DBA
Location; Alexandria, VA (Local to VA Needed)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract
Visa Status: US Citizen, EAD/GC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Administer the MYSQL database
-Analyze, design and implement the data model across the project.
-Interface with the client's enterprise data group to ensure project adherence to enterprise standards.
-Works collaboratively with developers to implement data models and database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes.
-Must have hands-on experience with best-practice database planning, design and modeling for new, enterprise-level applications.
-Responsible for the logical and physical database design.
-Design and development of database creation and upgrade scripts.
-Develop and tune SQL code.
-Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
-Deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping.
-Knowledgeable in the Setup, Configuration, Tuning, and Database Replication for MySQL.
-MySQL configuration, load balancing, failover and caching technologies.
-MySQL replication and clustering technologies.
-MySQL data architecture, server monitoring, and performance optimization.
-Ability to articulate, influence, and enforce best practices.
