Role: Build/Release Engineer
Location: Bloomington, IL
Duration: 1year

Technical/Functional Skills   -MUST HAVE SKILLS

JAVA Builds Management, Automated Builds, Build Engineer

 

Primary Responsibilities

•Define and implement build projects and steps
•Collaborate with SCM Engineer on SCM structure definition and modifications
•Coordinate (with project and service personnel) and execute build requests
•Identify and fix build failures relating to the build infrastructure or identify and report application-level build failures (optionally diagnose application-level build failures)
•Properly version-control build by-products
•Collaborate with capacity/infrastructure engineers on build infrastructure needs and future demands
•Abstraction of processes/metadata from physical resources
•Identify and implement build reuse routines
•Define, implement and provide relevant build project reports
•Ensure that enterprise build audit requirements are met
•Understand organizational and build system impact due to product upgrades
•Establish close and effective working relationship with Build Support SMEs
•Proactively identify systemic build failure trends and potential resolution approaches
•Participate in enterprise build engineering initiatives
•Define Build Engineer succession plan

 

Qualifications

•Experience with the Lifecycle Tool Suite tools including IBM Rational ClearQuest-enabled ClearCase UCM
•Experience with Mavens, Jenkins is must for building the packages
•Experience with SVN for maintaining version control
•Knowledge of IBM Rational Build Forge
•Knowledge of industry build best practices
•Knowledge of development technology platforms (i.e. J2EE)
•Knowledge of industry deployment strategies and practices
•Knowledge of Ant
