POSITION 1 (Core Model Developers)
Description
• Develop and deliver sophisticated econometric, economic, statistical or other mathematical models that meet internal and regulatory standards
• Responsible for designing, developing, building, and validating statistical models and segmentation strategies
• Performing data extraction, sampling, and statistical analyses/modeling using logistic regression, multiple regression, multivariate analysis, discriminate analysis, and neural network
• Includes use of evolving tools and methods to improve scorecard and other models through data enhancement, new characteristics and algorithms
• Responsible for Documentation and communication of modeling process and model results to business and independent review staff
Education Required
• Master's Degree (Quantitative-Related)
• Ph.D. Degree Preferred
Qualifications (Technical Requirements & Work Experience
• Minimum 1+ year experience in developing statistical and econometrics models for measuring risk within financial institutions.
• In-depth theoretical and practical knowledge applying categorical methods such as logistic and survival analysis, solid modeling background for panel data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to deliver quality results quickly.
• Expert in the use of software for data handling and model development.
• Experienced programming knowledge in both SAS and SQL, Operating system experience with UNIX and relational database knowledge such as ORACLE/TERADATA. SAS/Base, SAS/Stat, SAS/Macro preferred.
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills to clearly present analytical findings and make business recommendations via the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or other documentation tools
• Preference will be provided to those with demonstrated strong modeling experience in consumer and retail business banking and those with an understanding of the risk drivers for consumers and/or small business accounts.
POSITION 2 (Model Analysts – Forecasting)
Description
• Perform analytics and forecasting to identify drivers of change in delinquency and credit loss trends across multiple consumer products
• Analyzing, validating, and benchmarking the performance of various loss forecasting models/tools
• Forecasting loan balances, as well as principal and interest cash flows
• Performing credit related analytics in support of business and credit loss forecasting exercises
• Support adhoc forecasting exercises and analysis
Education Required
• Master's Degree (Quantitative-Related)
• Ph.D. Degree Preferred
Qualifications (Technical Requirements & Work Experience
• Prior experience forecasting credit losses, or experience in a highly analytical financial planning and analysis function may be required
• Familiarity with statistical modeling approaches a plus
• Knowledge of SAS, SQL, Unix, and other data programming languages also desirable
• Good understanding of data validation processes
• Understanding of capital stress testing requirements
POSITION 3 (Risk Reporting Analyst)
Description
• Manage various monthly and quarterly reporting and commentary including slide and deck preparation with attention to accuracy and deadlines
• Work with Risk executives and colleagues to understand reporting needs and presentation style
• Develop reporting and ensure data availability in anticipation of new reporting based on current business trends
• Manage ad hoc analysis; starting with identifying the opportunities and issues, collecting data, programming SAS, analyzing and presenting the data
• Assist in presenting the insights to stakeholders across the organization
• Gain knowledge of credit risk management, controls and infrastructure
• Develop a solid understanding of risk analysis and how it impacts the business
Education Required
• Undergraduate Degree
• Master's Degree is Preferred
Qualifications (Technical Requirements & Work Experience
• Practical expertise in standard data mining and analytical methods
• Attention to detail and data accuracy
• Strong project management skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong analytical, interpretive and problem-solving skills
• PC/technical skills; Query Language (SAS, SQL) is preferred
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel)
POSITION 4 (Data Analysts - Mining)
Description
• Analysis of sales and data elements associated with various products across CCB
• Responsibilities include data gathering, manipulation, overall analytical assistance, project documentation, communication package and presentation of results
• Leverage data from multiple sources and disparate databases to construct conclusions and strategies
Education Required
• Undergraduate Degree
• Master's Degree/PhD is Preferred (Quantitative-Related)
Qualifications (Technical Requirements & Work Experience
• Data mining of analytical methods
• Practical expertise in standard data mining and analytical methods
• Proficiency in SQL on various platforms such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server
• 5+ Years SAS experience – SAS Advanced certification
• Proficient in UNIX environments
• Familiarity with other reporting tools such as Business Objects, Cognos, Essbase, Brio
