Job Description:

What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment? 

Operations / Administration of a Big Data platform 

 

Is this person a sole contributor or part of a team? 

Yes

If so, please describe the team? 

2 member team 

 

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position? 

• Operate and support Big Data analytics platform 

• User provisioning and support 

• Support necessary actions as a result of administrative alerts 

• Manage jobs and schedules to ensure data retention policies are met 

• Availability to address the operational needs of the platform including escalations related to on-call (nights & weekends), if necessary 

 

What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities? 

• Web Browser 

• UltraEdit 21 

• SecureCRT 

• Scripting / automation 

 

What skills/attributes are a must have? 

• Have or be in process of obtaining advanced certifications pertinent to cybersecurity (CISM, CISSP, etc.) 

• Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with big data computing architectures (Hadoop, HortonWorks, NoSQL, ElasticSearch, Distributed Computing) 

 

What skills/attributes are nice to have? 

• Scripting / automation 

 

Where is the work to be performed? 

Remote using UHG hardware

What are the work hours?  

9-5. There may be longer hours on days with escalations / outages or maintenance

Who will be conducting interviews?  

Manager of IT Security
