Position: Quant (Mathematician or Statistician)

Client: Comerica Bank

Dallas, TX

Need to be able to hire in after initial contract.              

 

 

This person will perform analysis and modeling on data sets to identify new insights ("business experiments") and potential value for the business. They will work closely with the data scientist who will perform the above responsibilities (query, extract, manipulation, etc).

 

Requirements:

 

At least two years' experience in mathematical/statistical modeling and data analysis.

Thorough knowledge of multiple algorithms and ensemble methodologies, as well as supervised and unsupervised machine learning.

Random forest

Sentiment analysis

Linear and logistic regression analysis

Classification

Clustering

Decision trees

K-nearest neighbor

Naïve Bayes

Must be strong in validation, debugging techniques, and optimizing model performance

Experience creating visualizations that transform complicated scenarios into consumable and impactful messages

Strong communication and ability to interpret technical functions, approaches and terminology of modeling, along with benefits and risks of associated models into laymen terms for the business customer

Should have a fundamental knowledge and understanding of data query, extraction and cleansing process to communicate effectively with Data Scientist

Like the data scientist, should be creative or inquisitive in nature
